Boe padded up to the tall red stone building. Her tall body, and bold white and black color stood out against the dirty bricks. She rubbed the right side of her body up against the coarse wall to scratch an itch that had been bothering her during her walk. Her ears listened to the old wall crumble as her short fur brushed against it. Pride sparking a light as she though of her body strong enough to wear into the brick. Of course she knew it was no strength that crumbled the red into her fur and over the grassy grounds. It was age and neglect. For the moment it offered her a warm feeling inside. Finishing with her scratch she shook the excess debris from her body and looked around. Her eyes cloud not see much but her nose flared and her ears pivoted there posts a top her head. She could smell the urine of dogs come past but none fresh enough to worry about running into anyone. Her ears, for the moment, confirmed she was alone and her stiff body relaxed.
The Alphess to the Blood Lusts gang sat and though the itch was gone she lifted her foot to run her foots nails across her slender but muscles toned neck. It had been a while since she had been comfortably alone. No useless pack members to keep an eye on, no brother to stand by, and no one bothering her with information. Even a ruthless leader needed some time to herself.
Almost ready to lay down in the tall grass for an after noon nap her ears caught a flicker of sound. A rat. Nose went into action and confirmed the rodent presence. Not at all hungry, a normal dog would ignore the furry pest but she was a hunter, and no ordinary mut. All her body became ridged and ready as she jolted her head from side to side picking up the position with her tall and seemingly over sized ears. She followed the scurry of the rat through the tall grass towards the old hospital and now moved in. She had to get to it before it entered the building. A challenge to make the hunt more interesting. Slinking her body low to soften her foot fall, and watching were she stepped she stalked the small garbage muncher to a small corner of the building that had cracked and allowed the creature into its home. ‘good’ she thought. She knew were it was going now and could block the way to chase it into the grass were she had a better chance of catching it. Ready to make a dash for the hole she stopped. The rat had looked up and around. Had it heard her, no she was sure she made no noise, and was even down wind. So what had grabbed its attention. Or who?
God help the poor soul that approached. Even if this rodent was not a meal, Boe did not like interruptions. She kept to the tall grass, low and hidden in the dappled shade offered by a tree. Her paws grasping the soil and her tail still as so not to rustle the grass. Whom ever came into view would have to answer to 128 pounds of angry Great Dane, with a fancy for death.
